On the cover !

The recent work on adhesion and wetting of soft elastic particles, by the group of Élie Raphaël, has been selected to be on the cover of Soft Matter. In their thermodynamical analysis, Thomas Salez, Michael Benzaquen and Élie Raphaël, unify the Johnson, Kendall, and Roberts (JKR) theory of elastic contact and the Young-Dupré theory of capillary wetting. They describe in particular a crossover regime that should be experimentally accessible with soft enough solids.

The cover artwork has been designed by Étienne Raphaël.
